CMYK
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
An abbreviation for cyan (C), magenta (M), yellow (Y), and black (K), the four colors used in four-color printing. CMYK is a subtractive color system. It is basically the CMY color system with black ink added. Theoretically, the mixture of CMY should produce black, but when using inks, the black is not pure, so black ink, represented by the letter K, is added.. Using black ink instead of mixing the three colors to make black is less expensive. See also [[four-color process printing]]
