Blur

(1) Occurs when sharp lines in the subject matter of an image are not sharp in the resulting image. This can be caused by camera movement that creates motion blur or by incorrect focus. Blur can be purposeful, for creativity, or it can result from error. (2) The process of using the Photoshop blur tool. This tool is used for creative effect. See also Bokeh; blur tool
