Big data

A Photoshop term referring to any image information that exists in a layer but falls outside the dimensions of the document so that it is not visible. Certain image formats, such as TIFF, PSD, and PDF, will save the data even though it is not visible. By expanding the canvas, the photographer will be able to view the big data. See also canvas size
