Bezier curve
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
Mathematical function used to create smooth curves between points. The curves are known as vectors and the points are called nodes. An image created with these curves or vectors is called a vector graphic or vector image. In contrast to a vector graphic is a raster image, assembled from discrete elements called pixels. Vector images have the unique ability to be scaled upward without any loss of quality. The Bezier curve is always smooth. Raster images will pixelate if enlarged too much. For simple images, vector images will have much smaller file sizes as well. See also vector image
