Batch scanning
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
The process of scanning a series of slides automatically by the use of an automatic slide-feeder attachment for a slide scanner. The slide feeder feeds each slide into the scanner that scans the image, saves it, and then loads the next slide. Some slide mounts are slightly thicker and have a tendency to jam. It is difficult to get the best possible scan when done in a batch process because the scan is done automatically on an average basis rather than adjusting the scan for each image. If the images are sorted into similar exposures before batch scanning, this process can work well.
