Bandwidth
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
Indicates the data-carrying capacity of a network or a connection. It is usually measured as a function of time, such as bits per second (bps), megabits per second (Mbps), or gigabits per second (Gbps). This is important to digital photographers when they need to transfer a quantity of large images. They will want as large a bandwidth as possible between their source and their destination. Larger bandwidths are available over cable, DSL, and satellite than are usually available over dial-up Internet service.
