Auto bracketing
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
A feature of some digital cameras that allows the photographer to set the initial exposure. The camera then automatically takes an additional series of images with greater and lesser exposure in increments chosen by the user or the camera, depending on the camera. An example would be an exposure of 1/125th of a second at f /8. The camera then takes two exposures 1/2 stop and 1 stop greater than the original f/8 exposure, and then two exposures 1/2 stop and 1 stop under the original f /8 exposure. So the final exposures are f /5.6, f /6.7, f /8, f /9.5, and f/ ll. All of these images are taken in quick succession.
