Auto batch rename
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
A function built into Photoshop beginning with the Browser in Photoshop 7 and continuing into later versions. Images can be selected and then renamed by various criteria. A prefix can be used, followed by incremental numbers of a variable quantity of digits, followed by a suffix. This is applied to the grouping of images, with each new image numbered and the counter incremented before moving to the next image. It is a very powerful feature to keep digital images organized. It is important when renaming images to make sure that each image has a unique name so that there will be no confusion when working on them later.
