Auto balance
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
(1) A tool used in image manipulation software such as Photoshop. This function adjusts contrast and brightness to give a more pleasing result. In some cases, it adjusts the color balance and levels as well. (2) The auto white balance function found either in the camera or, later, in image manipulation software. The software in the camera or computer attempts to create a more pleasing photograph by adjusting all of the colors in the image so that the whitest color is converted to pure white and the other colors are adjusted to match.
