Aspheric lens

A lens element that is not circular or spherical in shape. When a lens has an aspheric element, it is often called an aspherical lens. The use of the complex shape in an aspheric lens element allows for the correction of various aberrations, especially spherical aberrations reducing the use of multi-lens designs.
