Archival techniques
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
The techniques used to produce archival images or prints. These include careful selection of materials used to produce and display photographs, including inks, papers, and framing materials; the choice of lighting conditions and location in which they are displayed; the determination of how they are stored when not on display; and the strategy of how the originals are protected. While no technique will guarantee permanent survival without deterioration, careful planning can significantly increase the lifespan of photographic materials, including digital ones.
