ONLINE GLOSSARY OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPY

Anti-aliasing

From The Glossary of Digital Photography

Jump to: navigation, search

A technique for reducing the effects of aliasing in images. Aliasing produces jagged edges. Softening the sharp edges of the artifacts with the use of a signal-processing filtering system can reduce these jagged edges. This makes the jagged edges

much less prominent, but produces a slight blurring of the area. See also aliasing
