Anonymous FTP
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
FTP, or file transfer protocol, is a technique used to move images or other data from one computer to another. Anonymous FTP means that one computer does not need an account to connect to the other computer if the latter supports anonymous FTP. This technique is commonly used to download various types of information. In most digital photography applications, the user has an account on the other computer to upload images to a stock agency, client, or lab, for example. See also FTP
