Absolute colorimetric
From The Glossary of Digital Photography
One of four different rendering intents used to convert colors from one color space to another. The others are relative colorimetric rendering, perceptual rendering, and saturation rendering. With absolute colorimetric rendering, color values are converted exactly to the same value in the new space. Colors that are out of range, or gamut, of the new color space are mapped to the closest value in the new color space. If the new color space is smaller, the new color value will be cut off or clipped from the original, often resulting in a reduced saturation. Absolute colorimetric is commonly used only when moving from a smaller to a larger color space where exact colors are desired, such as when producing a proof print.
