AA cell

A standard size of battery often used by cameras and flashes. The rechargeable version supplies about 1.25 volts; the alkaline battery version supplies about 1.5 volts. It is a popular battery because of its small size and widespread availability. (see figure below) The AA cell is the second from the right. The batteries, or cells, are (left to right) D cell, C cell, AA cell, and AAA cell.
