Refers to a color temperature, with K referring to kelvin. Note that, unlike other temperature scales, when stated properly, only kelvin is used to refer to the unit, and not degrees kelvin or 0K. 3400 is used as the approximate temperature of incandescent photoflood bulbs. See also Kelvin
